Voices of the Community: What two years of Jiba Pepeny Star Baby Taught Us
ABOUT THE SEMINAR
Since its birth two years ago, Jiba Pepeny (Star Baby) has become a vital bridge within maternity systems, weaving together essential
clinical care with Aboriginal ways of knowing, being, and doing. By centering cultural sovereignty, this resource has empowered families
navigating the heartbreak of stillbirth while transforming how midwives and clinicians walk alongside us. This session explores the
profound impact Jiba Pepeny has had on community healing and professional practice, ensuring that bereavement care is grounded in cultural
safety, deep humility, and the strength of our mothers and kin.
