2025 Ann Morgan Prize Winners
Dr Ann Morgan was a wise and curious thinker, with a fine intellect and a passion for good writing. The Ann Morgan Prize for creative
writing was conceived in 2010 by AAIMH Victoria as a way of honouring Dr Ann Morgan’s significant contribution to infant mental health,
through her teaching, advocacy, writing, and support in developing what we now know as the Australian Association for Infant Mental Health.
The prize offers an opportunity for both AAIMH members and writers to explore their thinking about infants through creative writing, in
any form, that considers the emotional relationship between a Baby, or Very Young Child, and an Other (e.g. Mother, Father, Family Member,
or Professional).
We are delighted to announce that in an extremely strong field of entries our 2025 Ann Morgan Prize winners are:
AAIMH/WAIMH Member Category: Sumedha Verma for Incarnating.
Open Category: Amelia Tennyson for
Patterns Interrupted.
Honorary mention: Melissa Malivoire for her poem The
House that held us.
AAIMH Victoria would like to thank our judges Dr Campbell Paul, Dr Jennifer Harrison, Dr Christine Hill, Dr Izaak Lim and Joanna Murray-Smith.
Entries for the 2026 Ann Morgan Prize will be opening April 2026.
