World Association For Infant Mental Health (WAIMH)

The World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH) is a not-for-profit organization for professionals, who work with infants and their families.

As documented on WAIMH's website: WAIMH's central aim is to promote the mental well being and healthy development of infants throughout the world, taking into account cultural, regional, and environmental variations, and to generate and disseminate scientific knowledge.

AAIMH is an affiliate member of WAIMH and supports many of the positions taken by WAIMH, including their position on the importance of the rights of infant. Described in detail in the WAIMH Position Paper on the Rights of Infants.

Further, WAIMH has collated COVID-19 resources with a focus specifically on infant mental health professionals and the needs of infants, young children, and their families. Information can also be found within Prof Kai von Klitzing's University of Leipzig, Presidential Address (April 2020), which can be found here.

WAIMH members from key IMH organisations have developed guidance for professionals on how to deliver relationship-based therapies via telehealth.
